FAQ

What is hemp oil?

Hemp oil is a blend of cannabinoids extracted form hemp plants including the highly beneficial cannabidiol also known as CBD.

What are Cannabinoids?

Cannabinoids are chemical compounds found in a variety of natural plants including hemp. Cannabinoids bind with receptor sites in our body that are part of the Endocannabinoid system and located all throughout the body. Research has shown cannabinoids to have numerous health benefits.

What is CBD?

Cannibidiol (CBD), is one of nearly 100 cannabinoid compounds found in the Cannabis plant. CBD has shown to have a wide array of medical uses as it helps alleviate many forms of pain, helps fight disease and DOES NOT cause any psychoactive results. In general research has shown CBD blocks pain receptors giving patients much needed relief without feeling impaired, and it breaks down inflammation markers improving flexibility of joints and ligaments.

What is the Endocannabinoid System?

The body’s natural Endocannabinoid System is a network of receptors spread throughout our bodies controlling some vital life functions including the immune system, pain sensation, memory, appetite, mood and sleep patterns. This system of receptors consists of CB1 and CB2 receptors. CB1 receptors are highly concentrated in the brain, whereas CB2 receptors are highly concentrated in the immune system. CBD DOES NOT interact or bind with CB1 receptors but rather it DOES bind with CB2 receptors thereby influencing the immune system causing a decrease in inflammation and pain. As we age, our Endocannabinoid System degenerates. With the use of a terpene genetic trigger, EndoGeneRx, a premium CBD product, regenerates the Endocannabinoid System and has significant impact on chronic pain among other medical conditions, thereby enhancing the healing process.

What is the difference between Hemp and Marijuana plants?

Hemp and marijuana are both derived from the cannabis sativa plant species. While both contain the psychoactive component tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), they are distinctly different strains with varied phytochemical uses. Unlike marijuana, hemp contains only traces (up to 0.3%) of THC, the compound that produces the ‘high’, but rather has a higher concentration of the “non-psychoactive” cannabidiol. The lack of THC in hemp oil makes it a preference to many who want relief without the psychoactive side effects found in marijuana.

What is the difference between a concentrate form of CBD and a full spectrum hemp oil?

The difference with a full spectrum oil versus a concentrate cannabidiol is the extraction process. A full spectrum oil does not isolate one compound, but rather it contains a range of cannabinoids and other plant compounds known as terpenes found in the original plant. While cannabidiol is the most abundant cannabinoid found in hemp, the other cannabinoids and terpenes are found in trace amounts in nature. A full spectrum hemp oil would also contain trace amounts (up to 0.3%) of THC which is the cannabinoid responsible for the psychoactive response. Although a full spectrum hemp oil does not contain enough THC to produce a euphoria response, it does have the potential to produce a positive drug test which can be problematic for many. In a concentrate form of cannabidiol, CBD is isolated and extracted out of the hemp oil, and is 100% THC FREE!

In addition to CBD, the various cannabinoids and terpenes are associated with numerous health benefits, therefore with EndoGeneRx we took the best of the Hemp plant by combining a high concentrate CBD with much higher percentages of imperative terpenes, essential oils, botanicals and a plant-based absorption enhancer to produce a premium product that is sure to ENHANCE the healing process.

Can CBD interact with any of my current medications?

Due to its Pharmaceutical heritage, Enhanced Therapeutix views potential prescription drug and OTC drug interaction with caution. With certain medications and at certain doses, “oral" dosing of CBD can be a concern due to potential interaction with liver enzymes as a competitive inhibitor and may slow down the drug's metabolism. EndoGeneRx Transdermal Lotion poses no such threat due to local “topical" application with virtually little systemic absorption far below potential drug interaction.
